Thanks for the amazing night! We had over 500 people pack the house & raised several thousands dollars for Rise Up’s humanitarian projects. Much thanks to: LARRY AND HIS FLASK, MOsley WOtta, Michael Toth, Black Eyed Productions, Josh Cordell & Tony Levison. We had some good press from The Bulletin.
An old friend of SoJones’ is back with its new and fab collection, please say hello to Rise Up International. If you’re all about wearing social statements and flaunting them through art, this brand is for you. SoJones talks to Jesse Roberts, founder-creative of Rise Up.
In an effort to support our local scene Rise Up has created a parody of one of our favorite campaigns. Oregonians can support MOsley WOtta by purchasing this shirt at MoWo concerts. 100% of the proceeds will go to support this group who recently won The Last Band Standing. (Even the cost of the shirt/printing is covered by Rise Up.) Mowo has partnered with Rise Up from art shows/concerts to LA, SLO, Vegas, Modeling, and many local benefit shows… Jason is truly part of the family we really want to see his band go far!!!

Rise Up Stands in opposition to the recently passed Arizona Bill SB1070 that would empower police officers to stop and interrogate every individual in the state regarding citizenship status and make it a crime to be an undocumented person in Arizona. The bill contains no safeguards against racial profiling and increases the likelihood of arbitrary arrest and detention. These are all human rights violations!!!
Rise Up Clothing has created a thought provoking tee shirt titled “Do I look Illegal.” This shirt is a great “ice breaker” to engage friends and your community about the issues. Click to see the Men’s Tee & Women’s Tee. Much thanks to Vanessa Bryant, (wife of Lakers super-star Kobe) who helped support our awareness campaign by wearing the “Do I look Illegal” shirt to game one of the Lakers playoff series against the Phoenix Suns.
Wear this shirt in defiance of the new bill in Arizona and in support of the Arizona citizens who will face harassment every time they step out their doors, the call is out for everyone to ask the question: “Do I look “illegal?” The focus is on raising awareness during the month of May and before the bill actually becomes a law.
Purchase this shirt for $24, which includes shipping!
Thanks to all who came out to the Haiti Benefit yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday.) We had almost 200 people come through to check out some fantastic music by: Manifest Destiny, The Lakes, Leif James & The Struggle, Larry & His Flask, and Person People.
